This demo shows the Crossrail project which links East and West London. Viewers can use the Search tool to find stations and information plans and can even use the Feature Info tool to open published plans in a new browser tab. Mappin's Customisation settings have been used to give the demo a Crossrail look and feel.
Mappin Themes are used to provide a simple map of flood hazard & risk. The Find My Nearest tool allows residents to locate their nearest safe refuge. The Reporting tool has been configured to allow residents to report flood issues (e.g. blocked culverts) and the Export tool has been configured to allow flood issue data to be exported (and filtered in a number of ways). The Find Me tool allows residents to locate themselves on the map.
In this example Mappin was used to create an application for tourists to find things to do / places to visit. Not only can users click map features to learn more about a given attraction but they can also filter between free / paid attractions and use the Find My Nearest tool to locate their closest point of interest. In this example, the Search tool has been configured to search based on activity type, description and also search keywords - why not search for 'museum' or 'walking'.
